In the booths and aisles, each of us has made it a goal to transcend an individual future – our work is grounded in a desire to improve the outdoor experience for others. As such, we are redefining Outdoor Retailer to meet the needs of the growing outdoor recreation economy, adding channels for the industry to interact directly with consumers and conduct commerce with buyers year-round. We’re moving beyond the walls of a convention center to present unique opportunities for commerce, storytelling, advocacy, knowledge and celebration. We are excited to unveil our plans at this summer’s show. The master bedroom in the Brinton home was one of our favorites!

They also did the same wall treatment in the office but painted it more of a true gray. The basement was completely finished and had a stunning bar/kitchenette painted in the same rich blue cabinetry color as the office. I am still trying to confirm this color but I’m pretty sure it’s Benjamin Moore Hale Navy.

After much deliberation and input from all sides, we’ve decided the best move for Outdoor Retailer is to return to our basecamp. We’re heading back to Salt Lake City and County to the place we grew up and where our industry matured into the dynamic and powerful community it is today. Moving forward, Outdoor Retailer will bring the community together in January and June at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center.

I also loved the beautiful angled ceiling and windows in the master bedroom of the Bradshaw home! One of my favorite homes in this year’s parade was an incredible modern farmhouse built by Bradshaw Homes and Properties and designed by The Black Goose Design. I just returned from a week in Salt Lake and I’m so excited to share a recap of the 2018 Salt Lake City Parade of Homes. Some of you may remember that I went out to Salt Lake last year to meet with builders/designers and also do the parade and shared all the great homes, design trends and inspiration here.
Also another trend still going strong that we saw in most of the parade homes are sliding barn doors. I don’t see this trend ending anytime soon because it’s so beautiful and functional. The kitchen in the Bradshaw home was also one of my favorite kitchens on the tour. I especially loved the layout and the beautiful oak floors. With winter fast approaching, there's another type of winterizing you can do with your home.
Stand with Salt Lake – Join us in support of local businesses. The office in this home was painted a dreamy shade of gray/blue/green. This trend is such a beautiful and fairly easy way to add drama to a space without having to tackle a whole room.
